After a couple of long days on the road, we delighted in the warm, wonderful sunshine of South Florida, relishing in outdoor waterside eateries, and soft sandy beaches. Sandy Paws enjoyed exploring new grounds and meeting ODD friends.
Carefully sniffing the fauna on Bowman’s Beach, Sanibel Island
In a small rental boat, we explored backwater mangrove islands,
Colorful waters and condos,
new types of friends,
pristine beaches,
and across “New Channel,” sighted a special beach, … for DOGS!!! (Whoo Hooo!)
Sandy Paws was a little intimidated at first by the BIG dogs playing…
but quickly fell in love with a cute canine friend – a back beach romance.
Unfortunately, it was soon time to go,
stopping first at the doggie shower
and saying goodbye as the sun set over the Gulf of Mexico.

Nice. Not a boat person, but the idea of renting one sounds neat for a different perspective.
The place where we stayed had 20-30 miles of beach, and everywhere it’s posted dogs are NOT allowed on the beach, so glad to hear there are dedicated ones . . . although no one seemed to pay the signs any mind. There were dogs all over the place.
. . . I can only assume their owners can’t read.
Also, very nice close-up of the pelican.
Off season usually gives more access to dogs, but it is still the responsibility and/or courtesy of the owners to p/u after and control their pets so all can enjoy. 🙂

Beautiful pictures. A great picture of Jeannie and Sandy Paws. Looks like you had a wonderful day.
Thanks, R
What a wonderful trip M. We are having some lovely spring weather here at the moment and the storms have long gone, but still left behind a great deal of damage. Still, so lovely isn’t it to be on the water like this and feel the sun on your face 🙂
Good to hear your harsh winter is “gone.” Florida was really nice, but Spring is still a bit distant here in New Jersey, as another snow event is happening just to our south as I write this. Happy Spring! M
Thanks M. We have a very early spring this year. So strange that you are still having snow. We never did get any. Happy spring to you too when it arrives 🙂
Thanks to you, Sherri. M
