    1. Thanks EJ. Many (including myself) use time exposures to increase the chances of capturing a strike. But I find that can sometimes effect color balance possibly via varied spectrum saturation. (I’m really guessing at that.. but it sounds good!) This was a case of snapping in rapid succession (!SO 100, f/5, 1/100 sec., -1 ev, auto white balance.) Still…luck is clearly involved. This is Bev. I think this is one of the best photos you have ever posted. Love photos of Mother Nature at her most spectacular!

    1. Thanks, Bev. Getting a good pic of the green effect is not always easy, as there are few reference colors to balance the image. But this wide shot let me do this in what I feel was reliaively accurate color rendition. (See comment above for more boring stuff) Looking forward to seeing yous! M 🙂

    1. I do love storms, and lightning…and we have had our share, not to mention riding out “Super storm Sandy” right here along the shore. But I also loved our two San Diego visits over the past 20 yearas, and the weather there was absolutly perfect! Hope to get there again. M 🙂

  2. M – After an incredibly busy July, I am just now getting time to look through my feed. This is a fantastic photograph! It captures the weightiness, the feel of the air, and your viewer can easily conjure up the scent of one of our fierce summer storms in this! Thanks so much for sharing this.

    1. I’m struggling with the same way about “busy” these days and had to seriously cut down online activities, but hope to “catch-up” at least in part. Your description is wonderful, and does justice, indeed, to expressing the feeling of the image. Thanks Maggie. M 🙂
