This morning, Christmas Eve 2015, I sighted these reindeer (ok maybe not REINDEER!) right in our backyard. The one above sported a really nice set of antlers.
Just off to the right, was another, apparently eyeing the first.
Male, Female – whatever. Before I knew it they were drawing closer. (Important note here: Female REINDEER do have antlers. You, the viewer can draw any gender or breed conclusions you want! 
The rest speaks for itself, although I’m not sure what was being said! 
They parted ways shortly after, seemingly quite content with their supposedly romantic encounter. Maybe this amorous behavior was sparked by the very unusual warm, spring-like weather here in New Jersey.
None the less… Ho! Ho! Ho, what a sight, and watch for these two ….in the sky tonight

Those are 2 male Virginia white tail deer. Looks like 4 point and 8 point bucks. Virginia white tail does have a 201 day gestation period and the fawns are born in the spring so this is a little after mating season but the 2 bucks are practicing fighting for mates. Merry Christmas Dick

As mentioned above, just some meaningless head-butting . . . kind of like watching the current political campaigns.
Still, a very nice capture no matter the reason, and a lot better than watching actual politicians.
Excellent photos. Yes, I saw immediately that they are not reindeers, but it does not matter, because Your photos are great.
Deep inside I knew they were not reindeer, BECAUSE I recall your amazing pictures of the real thing – beautiful shots of reindeer, some within that tunnel some years ago. And I let the fact that it was, indeed, Christmas Eve bend my rational thinking a bit, towards wishful thinking. I guess it’s editorial prerogative! Always looking forward to your posts. Yeah, I kinda suspected that, and Dick, (above) quickly clarified it to the cold hard facts. And then my friend above (Sartenada) shook me back to reality a bit further, but it was more of an awakening from the Christmas spirit. Oh and Santa did (somehow) get down our chimney that night!
