To The End of Orient Point, Long Island, (N.Y.)

The approximate distance from Times Square to the North-Eastern tip 0f Long Island is 100 miles, or 160 kilometers. Some time ago I explored this sea-washed lands end, known as Orient Point, while over looking the 1899 lighthouse by the same name.

Walking back, I noticed I was not alone!

Zoom in for a closer look and comments are always welcomed. M 🙂

    1. Judy: Reading recent posts from yourself and your environs inspired me, …having taken the “walk” and photos some time ago while returing from a business trip to Rhode Island, at that time, opting to pass up the dreaded I 95 back to home towards North Jersey and taking the ferry to Orient Point instead. We were familiar with the Greenport – Shelter Island area from a few years prior, when we boated from Havistraw, NY, around Long Island, out East Rockaway Inlet and down to Barnegat Inlet on the Jersey shore. So, thanks for the snippits from YOUR neck of the woods, …out there, and partlcularily the facinating posts about the South Bay erosions. M 🙂
