Some time ago we had rented a small boat near Little Hickory Island, south of Fort Myers, Florida. These two Pelicans remained perched, even though we were slowly approaching, giving me an opportunity for this image. I particularly like the sharpness of the nearer bird’s head, as he peacefully scrutinized our passing.

Metropolitan Life Tower, Eleven Madison Ave. NYC

Completed in 1909, and located on Madison Ave, NYC, the Metropolitan Life Tower was the tallest building in the world until 1913. Elements of a few of its intriguing designs were photographed by me a few years ago from nearby Madison Park. My son Steve and I, with several hundred people, were enjoying a wonderful concert there with singer/songwriter Lucy Kaplanski …until the in-ground watering sprinklers popped up and activated, in some cases under people’s blankets.

A mid-August view of the very top of Yosemite Falls and spray on a windy day!

As photographed awhile back, …the late-season lower volume of water would freefall for 1,400 feet (427 m) (shown above being sunlit and windblown at the very top) and then cascade down another near 1400 feet before reaching the bottom of the iconic Yosemite Valley, part of Yosemite National Park in western-central California.

To The End of Orient Point, Long Island, (N.Y.)

The approximate distance from Times Square to the North-Eastern tip 0f Long Island is 100 miles, or 160 kilometers. Some time ago I explored this sea-washed lands end, known as Orient Point, while over looking the 1899 lighthouse by the same name.
