I’m full of questions and off to research! LOL – – when was it built? Did barnstormers or crop duster pilots in the 30’s pave the way for Air Mail? Can I picture a massive UPS plane neatly delivering the missives into the box easier than their predecessors did? Hmm…so much to think about – – – LOL
I love this Gag. My grandfather actually put that mail box up there back in the 40’s (n Rte 210) and people love it still. The news paper even had a remote controlled helicopter “deliver” a letter to it one time!! If you can, I’d love the original images to give to my grandmother as a gift!
Maybe that one was used for Carrier Pigeons??????
